After the hard work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, institutions of Albania and many international institutions, it was proven that James Berisha is currently in Eritrea. James Berisha is being held in a detention center, no charges has been filed against him and the reasons of his detention remain unclear.

Many people are working intensively on his release and we are expecting James Berisha to return to Kosovo very soon.
We are using this opportunity to thank tall those wonderful people how have been committed to finding James Berisha.

Dear Friends of the Mission Flying for Kosovo,

We are informing you that we have completely lost contact with James Berisha. He made his last contact on Monday, August 15th from Asmara, Eritrea. His plan was to meet with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Eritrea and to return to Sudan on Wednesday, August 17th. So far, he has not returned we have no information regarding his location.

James Berisha went from Sudan to Eritrea by a commercial flight, because his plane is still damaged and is it still in Sudan.
We are in constant contact with the American Embassy, which is doing everything possible to locate James. Albanians who work in Sudan are helping us as well.
We are very concerned for the welfare of James and we remain hopeful that he is safe.

We will notify you of any news.

Miq të nderuar të Misionit Flying for Kosovo,

Po ju lajmërojmë që i kemi humbur plotësisht kontaktet me James Berishën. Herën e fundit është lajmëruar ditën e hënë, me datë 15 gusht nga Asmara, Eritrea. Plani i tij ka qenë që të takohet me zyrtarët e Ministrisë së Punëve të Jashtme në Eritrea dhe të mërkurën, me datë 17 të kthehet në Sudan. Deri tani nuk është kthyer dhe nuk është lajmëruar askund.

James Berisha ka fluturuar nga Sudani për në Eritrea me aeroplan komercial, për shkak se aeroplani i tij ende është i prishur dhe gjendet në Sudan.
Jemi në kontakt të vazhdueshëm me Ambasadën Amerikane, e cila po bën çdo gjë që është e mundur për të gjetur vendndodhjen e Jamesit. Një ndihmë të madhe po e ofrojnë edhe shqiptarët që punojnë në Sudan.
Jemi shumë të shqetësuar për mirëqenien e Jamesit dhe mbesim me shpresë që ai gjendet shëndosh e mirë.

Do të ju njoftojmë për çdo lajm të ri.

A long time has passed since the time I have written to you, and unfortunately, difficulties never stopped. This time I am writing to you from Eritrea, the penultimate country of the mission in Africa. I came here from Sudan with a commercial aircraft, because I have not yet found the solution for my plane. Engine remains damages and mission Flying for Kosovo remains without funds. My exit from the country of Sudan has been problematic and with a lot of bureaucracy. I hope that Eritrea will be better, all though this is the country which until now, throughout my travels brought me the most difficulties in obtaining visa. Now I’m here and I shall soon meet with representatives of the country and submit the request for recognition of independence of Kosovo.

Greetings from far away!

In an effort to raise more funds for the repair of the engine, James has made a trip to the United States.  We want to continue to thank those who have already donated and urge those who have not to do so now.  The funds are coming in slowly, but there is still a lot of money needed to buy a new engine for the plane.  Please help James finish this historic African mission.

There is no way in this world how I can thank enough the people who helped me here in Sudan. Mr. Denis Baillargeon and his team have been wonderful to me during all these days after the accident. They provided food, shelter, protection and emergency assistance in every aspect for me.

Once, during a trip from Macedonia to Bulgaria, an Albanian helped Mr. Baillargeon in a difficult moment. He has never forgotten this, and now he was willing to return the favor to an Albanian.

Yesterday, after the completion of the accident analysis, Mr. Denis authorized and organized the transport, team for loading the aircraft into the transporting truck which they use for carrying their baggers, and has made available all other equipments from the mines. I am very pleased to inform you that the transfer of aircraft from the place of accident is finally completed.

I am attaching pictures of the aircraft transfer process. It has been an event with rather complex logistics, and any small error could damage the aircraft. Ten people participated in this transportation. This process lasted for over seven hours, the distance to the mine is 43 km and we have been forced to move at a very low speed. Loading and unloading of aircraft has been very delicate and difficult. The transportation of the aircraft has been followed by numerous and armed police forces.

I am extremely happy that the aircraft is now safe and protected and it is not in the dessert under the care of police, who had to guard it temperatures up to 47°C.
Today I returned to Port Sudan, where I have extended the visa for five days. I hope that I can extend it for longer until I solve the aircraft issue.

My wish still remains to bring the damaged engine to Kosovo. I remain hopeful that I will achieve this, thanks to your help and support.

Shumë të dashur,

Në këtë botë nuk ekziston asnjë mënyrë me të cilën mund t’i falënderoja mjaftueshëm njerëzit që më ndihmuan këtu në Sudan.

Z. Denis Baillargeon dhe grupi i tij kanë qenë të mrekullueshëm me mua gjatë këtyre ditëve pas aksidentit. Ata më siguruan ushqim, strehim, mbrojtje dhe ndihmë të jashtëzakonshme në çdo aspekt.
Njëherë, gjatë një udhëtimi të tij nga Maqedonia për në Bullgari, z. Denisit i kishte ndihmuar një shqiptar në një moment të vështirë. Ai nuk e ka harruar këtë gjë kurrë dhe tani ka pasur kënaqësinë që edhe ai t’ia kthejë këtë nder një shqiptari.

Dje, pasi përfunduan të gjitha analizat e aksidentit, z. Denisi ka autorizuar dhe organizuar transportuesit, ekipin për ngarkimin e aeroplanit në kamion transportues me të cilin ata transportojnë buldozerët e tyre, si dhe ka vënë në dispozicion çdo pajisje tjetër nga miniera e tyre. Jam shumë i kënaqur të ju lajmëroj që më në fund ka përfunduar bartja e aeroplanit nga vendi i aksidentit.

Po ju bashkëngjis fotografitë e procesit të bartjes së aeroplanit. Kjo ka qenë një logjistikë mjaft e ndërlikuar dhe çfarëdo gabimi i vogël mund ta dëmtonte shumë aeroplanin. Në këtë transportim kanë marrë pjesë rreth dhjetë persona. Ky proces ka zgjatur mbi shtatë orë, largësia deri tek miniera është 43 km dhe patjetër kemi qenë të detyruar të lëvizim me një shpejtësi shumë të ngadalshme. Ngarkesa dhe shkarkimi i aeroplanit ka qenë shumë delikat dhe i mundimshëm. Transportimi i aeroplani është përcjellë nga forca të shumta e të armatosura të policisë.
Jam jashtëzakonisht i lumtur që aeroplani tani është në vend të sigurt dhe të mbrojtur dhe nuk është më në shkretëtirë nën përkujdesjen e policisë, të cilët e kanë ruajtur edhe në temperaturat që janë ngritur deri në 47°C .

Sot jam kthyer deri në Port Sudan, ku e kam zgjatur vizën për edhe pesë ditë tjera. Shpresoj që të mund ta zgjas edhe më shumë deri sa të bëhet zgjidhja e çështjes së aeroplanit.

Dëshira ime mbetet që motorin e dëmtuar ta sjell në Kosovë. Mbes më shumë shpresë që do ta arrij këtë, falë ndihmës dhe mbështetjes tuaj.

Dear friends,
I would like to inform you that the initial research and analysis of the accident was finished yesterday morning. The investigation was conducted by a research group of five experts from the Sudanese Civil Aviation from Khartoum who took the remaining parts of the exploded cylinder to their laboratory in Khartoum.
Based on their analysis, it was confirmed that the main axis that controls the exploded cylinder was curved due to an enormous amount of pressure. That pressure also caused damage to a second cylinder as well. The investigators confirmed my initial belief that the engine had been damaged many places as a result of the accident conditions.
It is clear that my aircraft can not fly anymore with this engine. Now, I have two options to decide from: one is to completely dismantle the engine and repair only the damaged parts (remember, there are a lot of parts that need to be fixed) and my second option is to replace the entire engine (which would be the faster and more cost-efficient option).
Due to the make and model of our aircraft (remember it is a 1967 Cessna), repairs to the engine can only be completed in places like the U.S., Canada, Kenya or South Africa. Transportation of an engine, repair, replacement parts, payment of engineers and all other processes will be at a very high cost, which our mission cannot afford. Further, the duration of this repair, according to experts, would be at least a month (maybe longer).
The more reasonable option for me to replace the entire engine, which still needs to be ordered from the U.S., Canada, Kenya or South Africa. The engine can be brought and mounted within a week, and our mission will be able to continue lobbying in the remaining countries of Africa. This option will still be very expensive, but will be the cheaper of the two.

Throughout these past two years, there have been many times that our mission has suffered. Whether physically, psychologically or politically, I have managed to keep our dream alive and continue on. I could never have done this without the emotional and financial support that all of you have been kind enough to offer me. All of my efforts have been completely voluntary and I have now been to several countries as a result of your hope and dedication to our cause.

As a symbol of thanks and gratitude to all of you who have supported me morally during this time, I would like to bring to our baby plane to Kosovo in order to record the proof that our vision and our people has made a difference in the world. I want our aircraft, the plane that nearly took my life, to be a symbol of hope for our future generations. I want it to remind us all of the important contributions that we all can make in the name of our beloved country’s future. All of the sacrifices that you and I have made for this mission should be honored my friends and I wish nothing more than for the opportunity to greet you all with our plane upon return to our country.

Though I wish that our government could offer more help in this matter, it may indeed be left in our hands once again to make sure that our efforts succeed. Folks, we are so close to the end of this mission in Africa. It is now time that I ask for us to gather together again for this meaningful moment and do together what we cannot do alone.

I ask for your support in any way that you can give it. Whether it means sharing our mission with your friends and families, fundraisers, a small donation monthly, etc., or it might be a strong message to send if some of you actually wrote or called the Kosovo government officials to ask them why we have not received more help from them in order to complete this activity.

My friends, this is a mission that WE built, the people of Kosovo, Albanians and Albanian Americans. We contributed to it in whatever way that we could – I as a pilot, private funds and the ability to travel voluntarily and you all in many, many ways. For many reasons, this mission belongs to the people of our country. We have a government that should be working for our people. Now is the time to awaken the power within us and use our voices to pressure lawmakers to help us get our plane home, where it belongs. Where it will show proof that our dream is something to be proud of. When we finally get all of the nations needed in order to become an ‘official’ country, we will be able to look back and say to our grandchildren that we did it, WE did it. Together.

Po ju lajmëroj që dje në mëngjes ka përfunduar hulumtimi dhe analiza fillestare e aksidentit. Hulumtimi është kryer nga një grup prej pesë ekspertëve hulumtues nga Aviacioni Civil i Sudanit nga Khartoumi, të cilët i morën pjesët e mbetura nga cilindri i eksploduar për t’i dërguar në laboratorin e tyre në Khartoum.
Sipas analizave është vërtetuar që boshti kryesor që dirigjon cilindrin e eksploduar është lakuar prej trysnisë së madhe, dhe kjo trysni e ka dëmtuar edhe cilindrin e dytë. Ekspertët kanë vlerësuar që si pasojë, motori i aeroplanit ka pësuar në numër të dëmtimeve të brendshme.
Përfundimisht aeroplani im nuk mund të fluturojë më me këtë motor. Tani i kam dy mundësi: njëra është çmontimi i plotë i motorit dhe riparimi i pjesëve të dëmtuara (në këtë rast janë shumë sosh) dhe mundësia e dytë është ndërrimi i motorit të aeroplanit me një motor tjetër, që do të ishte opsion më i arsyeshëm dhe më i shpejtë.

Motori mund të riparohet vetëm në ShBA, Kanada, Keni apo Afrikë të Jugut. Transporti i motorit për riparim, ndërrimi i pjesëve, pagesa e inxhinierëve dhe të gjitha proceset tjera do të jenë me kosto shumë të lartë, kosto që misioni ynë nuk mund ta përballojë. Kohëzgjatja e këtij riparimi sipas ekspertëve është të paktën një muaj, por mund të zgjasë edhe më shumë. Ky mision gjatë tërë kohës ka vuajtur dhe ka pasur vështirësi të mëdha financiare, por falë vullnetit dhe vendosmërisë, kam arritur të lobojë në mënyrë vullnetare gati në gjysmën e planetit.

Mundësi më e arsyeshme për mua është ndërrimi i motorit të aeroplanit, i cili duhet të porositet nga Amerika, Kanadaja, Kenia apo Afrika Jugore. Motori mund të sillet dhe montohet brenda një jave, dhe misioni ynë do të mund të vazhdojë lobimin në shtetet e mbetura të Afrikës.

Si shenjë falënderimi dhe mirënjohje për të gjithë juve që më keni mbështetur moralisht gjatë tërë kësaj kohe, do të dëshiroja që ta sjellë në Kosovë motorin e dëmtuar, i cili gati ma mori edhe jetën. Le të mbetet në muzeun e Kosovës si simbol i sakrificës time, dhe sakrificës së gjithë atyre që punuan, vuajtën dhe dhanë çdo gjë që kishin për vendin tonë të dashur.
